Gunmen Kidnap APC Chairman, Others In Katsina

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman for Dantankari ‘A’ ward in Dandume LGA of Katsina State, Alhaji Safiu Dantankari, has been abducted by unknown gunmen.

Naija News reports that the gunmen also reportedly abducted a woman and her stepson along with the ward chairman.

According to residents, the gunmen attacked the town on Thursday night and abducted the party Chairman.

The names of the other two victims could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.

The whereabouts of the three victims are still unknown.

Recall that five villagers were kidnapped on Wednesday night after armed bandits attacked Daudawa community in the Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

It was gathered that the bandits also carted away a large number of animals and food items during the attack.

A resident stated that the bandits stormed the communities on motorcycles after which they began shooting and burning houses and grain stores

Katsina State has seen recent upsurge in activities of bandits in the last one month, leading to the loss of many lives and displacement of hundreds of individuals and families.
