Security Alert: Assassins Have Invaded Edo State To Kill Some Politicians – Philip Shaibu Reveals

The Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, has alerted security agencies and the general public of some strange persons presently in Edo State to assassinate some prominent political leaders.

The Edo State number two citizen made the disclosure during a press briefing yesterday in the capital city, Benin.

The politician urged the President of the Federal Republic o Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari to come to the rescue of Edo people and as well challenged security agencies to act on the report.

According to him, should the security agencies and stakeholders act fast, they will save the state from becoming a ‘theatre of war’.

He said, “We have intelligence that some individuals are in Edo state and their assignment is to come and assassinate some known individuals in the state.”

“So I am hereby bringing to the notice of the general public that these people are in town and we’ve communicated to the security agencies about their activities and why they are in town.

“For us, we will continue to appeal to our people not to look for trouble; not to disturb any program,” adding that they are law-abiding and have a duty to protect lives and properties.”

Naija News had reported earlier that All Progress Congress (APC) Chieftain and former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been accused of plotting to impeach Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki.

The allegation was made in a statement on Saturday, August 9 by the National Vice Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the South-South, Dan Orbih, Naija News understands.
