The Peoples Democratic Party has asked the All Progressives Congress to blame the former National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, for fielding Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as the party’s governorship candidate in the September 19 election in Edo State.
The party stated that APC should blame the former Governor of Edo State for indicting Ize-Iyamu as a “fake pastor.”
Following the victory of Ize-Iyamu at the party’s primary, video of the former National Chairman of APC condemning the party’s candidate while he was in PDP has been spotted.
Oshiomhole had made damaging statements against Ize-Iyamu during the last governorship election in Edo State when Ize-Iyamu was the candidate of the PDP and Governor Godwin Obaseki was a member of the APC.
Ize-Iyamu, however, defected to APC, while the state Governor, Obaseki joined the PDP ahead of the September 19, governorship election.
PDP spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan in a statement on Tuesday, said: “The APC should blame themselves for presenting a candidate who was exposed by their party’s former National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, as a person of questionable character, a treasury looter, acid bather, rusticated student; a politician, who is only good for “night meetings” and unfit to hold office as governor of Edo State.”
“The APC should also hold Oshiomhole responsible for indicting its candidate as a “fake pastor” that started carrying the Holy Bible because he could not practice as a barrister.”
“It is indeed disgraceful that days to the election, all the APC has to offer is blackmail against our leaders, after its plans to derail the election has been exposed.”
