PDP Releases Timetable, Schedule Of Activities For 2024 Bye Elections

No governor under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is interested in joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), according to the party’s Governors Forum.

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State had on Friday said about 10 PDP governors will soon join the APC.

But on Saturday, the Director-General of the PDP Governors Forum, C.I. D Maduabum said the governors are focussed on giving good governance to their states.

According to the statement, the comment about the PDP governors does not deserve a response and is a misrepresentation of the fact.

“This statement does not merit any response but for the fact that it may demoralise PDP members and Nigerians who are not aware of the facts,” Maduabum said.

He described it as a diversionary method to “shore up the sagging morale of APC members” who are yet to come to terms with the defection of Governor Obaseki of Edo State.

The statement further claimed that the APC is in chaos and anarchy due to mismanagement of their party’s affairs, a fact “acknowledged even by Mr. President, Muhammadu Buhari.”

In addition, Maduabum assured that members of the PDP will not be distracted not to talk of a governor from the party joining the APC that does not have “even an elected leadership as envisaged by section 223 of the 1999 constitution.”
