Edo: Obaseki Laments Over Rising COVID-19 Related Deaths
Governor Obaseki, on Monday, noted that the number of COVID-19 death in the state has risen to 31.
Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has lamented over the increase in Coronavirus death-related cases in the state.
Governor Obaseki, on Monday, noted that the number of COVID-19 death in the state has risen to 31.
Obaseki in a post on his official Twitter account revealed that fifty Coronavirus patients have been discharged from isolation centres across the state.
According to the governor, out of the 197 discharged patients in the state, the elderly are the most affected by the virus.
He tweeted: “We have discharged 50 COVID-19 patients from our isolation centres in the state. A total of 197 people have recovered so far.
“However, the death toll has risen to 31, with the elderly making up a large number of the fatalities. Please, keep safe and protect the elderly.”
Meanwhile, the governor in his effort to curtail the spread of Coronavirus had called on the All Progressives Congress to submit the guidelines for their governorship primary which was held today.
The party, however, refused to obey the dictates of the governor as it noted it was acting in according to the law that guides against the spread of COVID-19.
