COVID-19: How 55-year-old Man Died of Coronavirus In LUTH, Lagos

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday evening announced on their verified Twitter handle that Nigeria has recorded 19 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19)

The new update made the number of the novel virus in the country rises to three hundred and sixty-two (362) with ninety-nine (90) people discharged while eleven (11) deaths recorded so far.

Meanwhile, the Director-General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Chikwe Ihekweazu, have noted earlier in a tweet on his account that the lockdown order in the country was a difficult decision but a short term strategy to prevent an exponential increase in Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases.

Chikwe tweeted: “Sometimes it’s not a lack of resources that may lead to inefficiency but the inability to connect the dots.

“To measure efficiency in #COVID19 testing, we set a target to test 2000 samples per day in Lagos & 1000 per day in Abuja”

“The lockdown was a difficult decision but a short term strategy to prevent an exponential increase in #COVID19 cases.

“We will utilise the next 2 weeks as efficiently as possible and allow the economy restart in order to protect the health of Nigerians.”
