Bayelsa Police Confirm Abduction Of 3-year-old Twins

A Catholic Priest who was kidnapped earlier in March 2020 by some unknown gunmen in Benue State has reportedly regained his freedom on Tuesday.

Confirming the report to newsmen, Benue State Police Command on Wednesday, March 4th said that Rev. Fr. David Echioda, the priest in charge of Catholic Diocese of Otukpo, has been set free after a few days with his abductors.

Naija News understands that Fr Echioda was abducted on 1st of March, in Ado Local Government Area of Benue State.

It was disclosed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Catherine Anene that the clergyman was set free by his abductors without paying no ransom.

He further hinted that Fr Echioda was freed on the evening hour of Tuesday, March 3rd without any injury sustained.

He, however, added that the command is on the verge of getting hold of the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, in another news, some yet to be identified gunmen on Tuesday, March 3rd attacked Matsirga village, a community in Madakiya, in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, leaving dead two persons, Naija News understands.
