1. Boko Haram Invades Adamawa, ‘Kill Many’, Burn Houses

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have killed many people in Garkida, a town in Gombi local government area of Adamawa state, northern Nigeria, residents of the area have said. A report monitored on TheCable by Naija News, quoted a source to have said that the insurgents broke into the town around 7 pm on Friday, February 21, shooting sporadically.

2. INEC Releases Timeline For Conduct Of Edo, Ondo Governorship Primaries

Nigeria’s electoral umpire, INEC has released the dates for the conduct of governorship primaries by political parties in Edo and Ondo States. INEC’s Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, who made this known at a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners, in Abuja on Friday said the end of tenure Governorship elections in Edo and Ondo were holding later in the year.

3. Oluwo Of Iwo Suspended For Six Months

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi has been suspended for six months by the Osun State Traditional Rulers’ Council. Naija News understands the decision to suspend the traditional ruler was taken at an emergency meeting on Friday at the Osun State Government Secretariat, Abere, which was presided by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.

4. Oluwo Of Iwo Reacts To Six Months’ Suspension

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi has said that he was never suspended for six months by the Osun State Traditional Rulers’ Council. Naija News had reported earlier that the Oluwo suspended for the alleged assault of the Agbowu of Ogbaagba, Dhikrulahi Akinropo, during a peace meeting last week in Osogbo, capital of Osun State

Borno State lawmaker Senator Ali Ndume has rejected the newly introduced bill set to create an agency for repentant Boko Haram insurgents. Naija News learnt that the Federal Lawmaker, who is also the Chairman Senate Committee on Army, made this known while speaking during an interview with Channels Television and monitored by our correspondent.

The Osun State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has smashed a prostitution and child abuse syndicate running under the guise of a church. Following intelligence reports on the activities going on within the church, the police mounted surveillance and eventually effected the arrest of the ring leader.

7. Sacked Bayelsa Deputy Governor, Degi-Eremienyo Provides ‘Proof’ That His Certificates Are Original

The sacked deputy governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo who was removed from office by a Supreme Court order has released fresh evidence to support his claims that his certificates are original. Addressing a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, Degi-Eremienyo maintained that he didn’t present any fake or forged certificate or credential while seeking political office.

8. Boko Haram: God Is Punishing Nigerians For Their Sins – Sultan of Sokoto

His royal highness, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar lll, has described the situation faced currently in the Northern part of Nigeria as a punishment from God to the country for their misdeeds. Naija News recalls that in a security meeting about two weeks ago, the monarch berated the newly established security outfit called ‘Shege Ka Fasa’ in the north which he described as a copy of the South-West Amotekun.

Nollywood Actor, Frank Dallas is dead, Naija News learnt that Dallas died on Wednesday while he was attending a summit in Abia state. Through a statement released by the President of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Mr. Emeja Rollas, he stated that three days of mourning and prayers across all state chapters of the guild should be observed in honour of the late actor.
