Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has reacted to the Supreme Court judgment that affirmed his election as governor of Kano State.

It will be recalled the apex court in a unanimous decision on Monday, affirmed Ganduje’s victory at the polls and dismissed the appeal by Abba Yusuf, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Reacting after the Supreme Court judgment, Governor Ganduje called on the opposition party and other stakeholders in the state to join hands with him to build Kano.

He also commended the judiciary for upholding the confidence reposed in the system to deliver free and fair pronouncements.

“We thank Allah for the victory that made it possible for the Supreme Court to reaffirm our victory after Election Petition Tribunal and Court of Appeal judgments, Ganduje said in a press statement on Monday by his press secretary, Abba Anwar.

“We also thank Kano people for a peaceful conduct of their affairs.”

“We also commend all the Judges who partook in this exercise of deepening democracy. This shows the commitment of our judiciary in strengthening our democracy. This is highly commendable.”

“I insist that our opposition should come and join us to move the state forward. We have a lot of developmental projects on the ground. And more are coming. Our free and compulsory education policy needs all hands on deck. Our security system also needs all and sundry. Among others,” Ganduje said.
