Navy Rescues Three Kidnapped Foreign Sailors

The three foreign sailors kidnapped by pirates in the oil-rich south of Nigeria have been rescued, according to the Nigerian Navy.

A Navy team had saved the foreign sailors which comprise of two Russians and one Indian on Tuesday.

The development was revealed by the spokesperson of the southwestern coastal state of Ondo, Suleman Dahun.

Dahun said, “The rescue happened yesterday around 11 pm”, he further stated that one of the kidnappers have been arrested.

Navy also revealed that several pirates had been killed and operations were underway to seize the others.

Pirates last week Thursday raided an oil dredger, the MV Ambika, in the volatile waters of the Niger Delta.

The Pirates that kidnapped three foreigners on the vessel also killed four naval personnel.
