Boko Haram Abduct Soldiers, Red Cross Staff In Borno

Members of the Islamic State in West African Province (ISWAP), a breakout faction of Boko Haram, has abducted six Nigeria soldiers in Borno.

The soldiers alongside other travellers were kidnapped on Tuesday at about 5:00 pm, along Maiduguri, Damaturu road.

Naija News understands that the ISWAP members had staged a roadblock on the main highway in and out of Maiduguri, the state capital.

The terrorists had pretended to be security operatives on duty for more than three hours before the military vehicle, as well as other vehicles carrying passengers, ran into them.

It was gathered that eight people and two staff of the International Red Cross were also abducted.

Also, a security source said on Friday, eighteen civilians were kidnapped by the terror group, Boko Haram during raids in Cameroon’s far northern region.

“The terrorists stormed several localities of the region, looted foodstuffs, and abducted 18 men and women,” the source said.
