Zamfara: PDP Chairman Dies After Peace Meeting

The Peoples Democratic Party campaign trail was on Saturday accused of killing four persons after it ran into a kiosk in Kogi State.

According to a report, a G-Wagon on the campaign trail of the opposition party killed all four occupants of the kiosk.

A further report noted that this is the second incident in two weeks, as a similar accident occurred which led to the death of two people on the Ankpa/Ayingba Road.

The incident was reported to have taken place in Idah, the ancestral headquarters of Igala kingdom.

A report revealed that the G-Wagon which was involved in the accident was the back-up vehicle for the PDP governorship candidate, Musa Wada.

Hilary Amodu, the Chief Administrator of the Idah Local Government Area of the state, in a statement through his media aide, Idachaba Muhammed, claimed that the driver of the G-Wagon was reckless.

He said, “This kind of reckless driving that has been going on in Idah in the name of political rallies is no longer going to be entertained.”

It was added that the driver and the passengers of the vehicle are in critical condition at an undisclosed hospital.

A source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity revealed that the presence of men of a security joint task force prevented the driver from being lynched.

The Publicity Secretary, Musa Wada/Aro Campaign Organisation, Faruk Adejoh, while speaking on the incident stated that two people died and one was injured in the accident.

Adejoh said, “Accidents do happen, but it is sheer mischief for anyone to ascribe it to recklessness. No one prays for such a calamity.”
