EFCC Raids INEC Office In Sokoto State

The Sokoto Zonal Office of the Economic Crimes Commission, on Tuesday, raided the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission in the state.

A source revealed that the commission raided the INEC office due to a petition written by an ad hoc staff, engaged for the conduct of the February 2019 elections, who accused the electoral body of not paying their allowances.

The EFCC Sokoto Zonal Office Commandant, Abdullahi Lawal, confirmed the raid on INEC Office.

He said “Yes, it is true we visited the INEC Office, based on petitions before us. Some INEC principal officers were invited, and they are still with us for questioning.

“As it is right now, I cannot comment beyond this because the investigation is still going on”
