Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command have arrested a 23-year-old man identified as Ahmed Abdullahi for allegedly stabbing his step-mother to death.
Naija News understands that the incident occurred in their house in the Agyaragu Area of Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital.
The suspect was reported to have first attacked his step-mother with a kitchen knife he borrowed from a neighbour leaving her with a cut on her leg.
In a report monitored by Naija News, Ahmed then attacked his stepmother for a second time when he ignored the pleas of his step-mother, pushed her to the ground while she was running out of the house.
The suspect was reported to have overpowered his victim despite her plea for help, slit her throat and absconded from the scene before he was later arrested.
An eyewitness while reporting the incident, revealed that the mother of the murder suspect also fled from their apartment after the children of the deceased tried avenging their mother’s death.
Confirming the report, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Ramhan Nansel confirmed the arrest of the suspect and further disclosed that he will be arraigned in court after investigation has been completed.
