The recent xenophobic attack on Nigerians, businesses, and properties in South Africa has been greeted with reactions from several persons across the world.

The incident was reported to have started on Sunday morning as confirmed by the President of the Nigeria Union South Africa (NUSA), Adetola Olubajo.

Adetola stated that the attacks began on Sunday morning in Jeppestown area of Johannesburg when a building was set ablaze by an angry mob.

However, following the attack on Nigerians in South Africa, Nigerians have been calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to make a statement on the incident to calm the minds of his countrymen.

On Tuesday, some Nigerians compared the regime of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and President Buhari’s administration, they were of the view that Obasanjo would have taken an action to calm down the situation during his tenure.

The view of Nigerians about the action of President Buhari has seen the hashtag ‘WeNoGetPresident’ trend on Twitter.
