1. Court Frees Jonathan’s Ex-Aide, Dudafa Of All Corruption Charges

The former Senior Special Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Domestic Affairs, Waripamo-Owei Dudafa, and a banker, Joseph Iwuejo, who were accused of stealing N1.6bn fraud have been freed of all corruption charges.

In a 190-page judgment, Justice Mohammed Idris held that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) failed to prove any of the 22-count charge beyond reasonable doubt against Owei-Dudafa and a Heritage Bank worker Joseph Iwejuo.

2. Second Chance: El-Zakzaky, Wife May Leave On Another Medical Trip Soon

Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, the embattled leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, and his wife, Zeenat, are set to embark on another medical trip soon.

Speaking on the alleged journey, a top member of the movement revealed that their leader might be taken out for another medical trip, but the day is not made known yet.

3. $40m Jewellery: Diezani Set To Know Fate On 2nd September

The final decision on the forfeiture of $40m Jewellery owned by an ex-minister of petroleum resources, Diezani Allison-Madueke will be decided on the second of September 2019.

Naija News understands that Justice Nicholas Oweibo gave the verdict on the adjournment at the instance of all the parties in the case earlier on Thursday.

The judgment delivered in favour of P&ID in London, the United Kingdom two weeks ago against Nigeria has been a great shock to many citizens and the Federal Government.

5. Gunmen Kill Catholic Priest In Taraba, Burn Him And His Vehicle

Gunmen suspected to be Tiv militias have killed a catholic clergy and set his vehicle ablaze at Kufai Amadu, Takum local government area of Taraba state.

The priest was said to have been on his way for a peace meeting with his fellow clergymen on how to resolve the lingering Tiv/Jukun crisis when he was murdered by the assailants.

6. Buhari Has Judiciary, National Assembly Under His Armpit – Buba Galadima

President Muhammadu Buhari has been accused by a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Buba Galadima, of having the judiciary and the National Assembly, “completely under his armpit and pocket.”

Galadima while speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today accused the President of intimidating and muzzling the judiciary, he stated this while reacting to claims that some “friends of this government” are trying to manipulate cases in court.

7. EFCC Detains 4 Over Obasanjo’s $16b Power Projects

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has detained four persons in relation to its investigation of the$16 billion power projects under the President Olusegun Obasanjo regime.

Naija News learnt that the two top officials of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), the company which supervised the execution of the project were among the four persons detained by the anti-graft agency.

The Nigerian Army has disclosed it has a new strategy in place that guarantees the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists will surrender and stop its activities.

This was disclosed by the acting General Commanding Officer of 7 Division of the Nigeria Army, Brig.-General Abdul Khalifa Ibrahim.

9. Ganduje Reveals Governors Ganging Up Against Oshiomhole

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has revealed and faulted plans by some All Progressive Congress governors to remove the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole from the seat.

This Ganduje revealed in an interactive session with reporters in Abuja yesterday, when he declared that he would never be involved in such a plot.

Afenifere, a Yoruba socio-cultural political organisation on Wednesday chided President Muhammadu Buhari, saying he has failed to act as a father of the nation.

The group made the submission while reacting to some current developments in the country and its perception of the President’s response.
