CTC Judgment Showed Appeal Court Upheld Kano Gov’s Election - Falana

The leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat, have a high level of lead poison in their blood due to pellets of bullets lodging in their bodies, Femi Falana (SAN) has revealed.

Falana, who his the lawyer of the duo, made this known while speaking with newsmen after the Kaduna State High Court adjourned the ruling on the application filed by El-Zazaky to travel for medical attention.

The human rights activist lamented the refusal of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to allow the Shiites leader to get adequate health care.

“El-Zazaky and wife Zeenat- are in dire need of medical attention as Nigeria’s government had refused to give them adequate medical care since their detention in 2015,” he said.

“They have pellets of bullets lodging in their bodies which is responsible for lead poisoning of their blood.”

Naija News reports that the High Court has adjourned its judgement on the application filed by El-Zakzaky seeking bail from detention.

Justice Darius Khobo promised to rule on El-Zakzaky’s application on Monday, August 5th 2019.

Falana, however, reminded the court that the health condition of his clients was getting worse by the day.

He added that only a foreign medical treatment was required to stabilise them to enable them to face the main trial.

But, the prosecuting counsel Debris Bayero who opposed the bail application insisted that El-Zakzaky’s medical condition can be treated in Nigeria.

After listening to the submissions from both counsels, the presiding judge, Justice Darius Khobo adjourned the ruling on the application to August 5.
