The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, will hold a live broadcast later today over the banning of the Islamic Movement Organisation (IMN) better known as Shiites.

Naija News reports that the broadcast will hold on Radio Biafra by 7 pm, Nigerian time, a tweet by the IPOB leader revealed.

“Join me for an emergency live broadcast on Radio Biafra FM, Radio Biafra App, satellite and online.

“I will be addressing among other things, the illegal banning of Shi’a (IMN) protests and tagging them a terror group. Date: Saturday, July 27, 2019.

“Time: 7 pm Biafraland Time,” Kanu tweeted on Saturday.

Naija News had reported earlier that the Federal Government obtained a court order to proscribe the Shiites as a terrorist group, just like it did with Nnamdi Kanu’s led IPOB.

The ex parte application marked FHC/ABJ/CS/876/2019 was filed in the name of the “Attorney-General of the Federation” before the court on Thursday, July 25.

This online news platform understands that the court restrained “any person or group of persons” from participating in any form of activities involving or concerning the IMN “under any name or platform” in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Kanu is leading a group seeking secession from Nigeria. The group has since been proscribed by the Nigerian government.
