Protesting Shiite members on Tuesday clashed with some security operatives including armed policemen and soldiers at Banex, Wuse 2, Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Naija News understands that the clash comes in about 24-hours after the group clashed with operatives of the Nigerian Police in Abuja; a development that left scores killed and several sustaining varying degrees of injuries.

Tuesday’s attack started when the Shi’ite members stoned the security operatives who responded with tear gas.

Many vehicles were vandalized during the clash with business owners locking up their facilities.

Stones and other objects littered the scene of the clash as the area looked deserted.

Pedestrians around the area were forced to raise their hands in the air by the stern-looking policemen.

The Shiites are protesting the continuous detention of El-Zakzaky and demanding his release.
