APC, PDP Senators Disagree Over Electronic Transmission Of Election Results

Senators of All Progressives Congress (APC) have today blocked a motion that sought to debate the speech delivered by President Muhammadu Buhari on Nigeria’s Democracy Day.

The motion was brought forth by Senator Istifanus Dung Gyang (PDP, Plateau) who said: “The motion has to do with the speech by President Muhammadu Buhari on Democracy Day. The speech is already in the public domain and had generated a lot of interest.”

The motion was subjected to voice votes by the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan and APC Senators shouted it down.

They stated that the Senate does not need to discuss the content of the speech.

Lawan then ruled: “The nays have it”.

The development, however, caused disquiet among PDP Senators.
