APC Congratulates Lawan On Election Victory

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Senator Ahmed Lawan on his emergence as the Senate President for the 9th National Assembly.

The party took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter to react after Lawan was declared the winner of the election which took place on Tuesday in the Senate chambers of the National Assembly.

Recall that as previously reported by Naija News, Lawan defeated his only challenger, Senator Ali Ndume also of the APC to emerge the new Senate President.

Lawan polled a total 79 votes while Ndume scored 28 votes of the total 107 votes cast by the lawmakers.
