Buhari Drops Minister From New Cabinet List
President Muhammadu Buhari will not re-appoint the Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu, when he unveils his second term cabinet.
According to sources close to the Presidency, Buhari has been warned not to reappoint the Oyo politician due to scandals surrounding him.
Shittu will likely create a “political problem” in his state if appointed, sources noted.
Naija News recalls that the embattled minister had admitted not partaking in the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), which caused an uproar among Nigerians.
Also, former Personal Assistant to the minister, Razaq Olubodun and Special Assistant on Media, Victor Oluwadamilare, on Tuesday dragged Shittu before an Abuja Division of the National Industrial Court (NIC) over twenty-one million, five hundred thousand Naira (N21,500,000.00) unpaid salaries and allowances.
The minister was accused of refusing to pay his former aides their outstanding salaries and allowances.
They urged the court to direct the minister to pay the salaries and allowances he owed them.
