Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has said that the minimum qualification for been appointed as local government caretaker chairman is now a degree or Higher National Diploma.

Special Adviser to the governor, Tahav Agerzua, who gave an insight into the deliberation at the PDP caucus meeting held in government house, Makurdi was the composition of local government caretaker committees.

Since the tenure of the present council chairmen expires in June this year, the state government is proposing the composition of caretaker committees.

Meanwhile, in another development, the House of Representatives has again approved the creation of another two state constituencies from Ushongo State Constituency of Benue state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
