2022 UTME: 'They Can't Be Offered Admission' - JAMB Condition Some Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says candidates that sat for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), would be able to check their results in their mobile phones.

Naija News reports that JAMB Head of Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, made this known on Sunday.

Benjamin noted that the candidates should not “allow any Computer-Based Test centre to exploit them.”

According to him, the 1.8 million candidates who sat for the examination results are still undergoing screening for malpractices and would be released any time “next week.”

The spokesman revealed that the board had designed a process, which would be announced shortly, to enable candidates to access their results through their mobile phones, without having to go through a CBT centre or a cyber cafe.

His words: “We are working round the clock to ensure the release of UTME results. Most likely, it will be in the upper week. We will use this week to conclude on screening of the results.

“Some stories flying around about how to check UTME results and others are all lies. We have not released any results. As soon as we release results, we will announce to candidates and also explain the process of checking such results. We have simplified the process. Candidates will use their phones. They don’t need to go to any cyber café or internet provider.

“So, candidates should disregard the processes of checking results being peddled around presently. We also did not deduct 100 marks for examination malpractices. If any candidate is found to have indulged in malpractices, such results will be cancelled, not by deduction of marks.”

Speaking further, Benjamin stressed the need for candidates to shun reports concerning results, saying, “I repeat that candidates will check their examination results from their phones; not from any cyber café. But the full process will be announced to the candidates as soon as the results are released.”
