1. FG bans mining in Zamfara state
The Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari has banned mining activities in Zamfara state, northern Nigeria, ordering foreigners within mining sites to vacate the area immediately.
Naija News reports that the acting inspector-general of police, Mohammed Adamu, made this known while addressing state house correspondents after a security meeting at the presidential villa in Abuja on Sunday.
2. Deadline: INEC, APC set to respond to PDP, Atiku’s petition
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the APC have till Thursday to respond to the election petition filed by the PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, challenging the outcome of the presidential election.
Due to the fact that the petition was served on him late, President Muhammadu Buhari, who is the candidate of the APC, has till at least April 16 to respond to the petition.
3. Zamfara Killings: Yari most useless Governor in Nigeria’s history- Kadaria

4. 5 dead, 45 injured in fresh suicide attack
Five persons have been confirmed dead while 45 persons have been left with various degrees of injuries in a suicide bomb attack in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
Naija News reports that the bombers were identified to be two females.
The bombers were said to have been trapped with Improvised Explosives Device (IEDs) vests and attacked a crowded place at the Muna-Dalti area of Maiduguri on Saturday night.
5. Rivers: PDP reveals APC, AGF Malami’s plan to cause crisis
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi of plotting with Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami to use the Supreme Court to wreck constitutional crisis in Rivers State.
Speaking to newsmen on Sunday, the spokesperson of the PDP, Kola Ologbodiyan alleged that the acting Chief Judge of Nigeria (CJN) Tanko Mohammed was under pressure by some desperate APC leaders to reverse the Supreme Court verdict excluding the APC from the just concluded governorship and State Assembly elections.
6. Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu makes strong allegation against DSS
The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has alleged that operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) harvest human organs and sell it to India.
Naija News reports that the secessionist leader made the allegation during a live broadcast on Radio Biafra on Saturday evening, April 6.
7. Ndume rejects Tinubu’s appeal to drop senate presidency ambition
Last-minute attempts by the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and other party leaders to pacify Senator Ali Ndume to drop his bid for the Senate presidency may have flopped.
Reports on Saturday revealed that the leadership of the party and some influential senators met last week and decided to reach out to Ndume, who is contesting the position against Senator Ahmad Lawan.
8. Onnoghen’s trial to continue as presidency denies deal with ex-CJN
There is no deal between the Presidency and embattled Justice Walter Onnoghen on his exit as Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).
Onnoghen who had been on suspension since January 25 following allegations of corruption against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), turned in his letter of resignation on Thursday.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has disclosed that it lost some states to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded general elections because it gave every Nigerian the opportunity to contest election freely.
The APC lost the governorship elections in Imo, Adamawa, Bauchi and Oyo states, four states controlled by APC Governors.
