Nigerians React To Oyetola's Supreme Court Victory

All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun has rejected the judgment of the Election Petition Tribunal verdict that declared Senator Ademola Adeleke the winner of the 2018 governorship election in the state.

APC, in a terse message sent to Punch by the party’s spokesperson, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi, said, “‘The verdict cannot stand superior legal scrutiny. Therefore we will appeal against it.”

Naija News reported that the Tribunal stated that the All Progressives Congress and its candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, were not validly returned

It also declared the rerun Osun governorship election on September 27, 2018, in seven polling units was illegal.

The tribunal ruled that the exercise was borne out of an illegal cancellation of results in the polling units during the September 22, 2018, original poll.

It added that the Returning Officers who declared the results cancelled, lacked the power to do it.
