Dino Melaye Raises Alarm, Accuse Police Of Trying To Forcefully Enter His House

Embattled Senator, Dino Melaye has raised alarm, claiming that operatives of the Nigerian police are trying to gain forceful entrance to his Abuja residence.

The Senator revealed the details through his twitter handle. “Police bringing in tool boxes to break doors and vandalize my house. Police EOD truck just brought them. Media take note” – He posted.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has mocked President Buhari’s New Year speech.
Naija News learnt that,the party described the President’s New Year speech as empty, adding that it lacks ideas.

Suspend Your Strike For The Interest Of Nigeria’s Democracy – INEC

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has insisted that the ongoing strike action by the union is in the best interest of Nigeria, despite plea from the Independent National Electoral Commission to suspend the action for 2019 election sake.

The National President of ASUU, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi who made this known ahead of the union’s meeting with the Independent National Electoral Commission, during an interview with The Punch, said that the strike would not be called off until the Federal Government acceded to the lecturers’ demands.

New Year Message : Nnamdi Kanu Tells Igbos To Boycott 2019 Election

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has called on all Igbos to boycott 2019  genral election in his  New Year broadcast yesterday.

Naija News Understands that  Kanu  while speaking in the New Year Day live broadcast, which commenced 6 pm Nigerian time, insisted that a referendum for the Republic of Biafra must be conducted, stressing that without the referendum, he and other pro-Biafra activists will boycott the general elections scheduled for February.

NLC Unrealistic For Insisting On N30,000 Minimum Wage – Governors

Governors of the 36 states of the federation on Monday, described the insistence of the Nigerian Labour Congress on N30,000 minimum wage as an attempt to hold the country to ransom.

The governors, speaking through the platform of the Nigeria Governors Forum, insisted that they were not capable of paying the minimum wage been demanded by the NLC due to economic and financial realities.
