Atiku Donates N10m To Victims Of Abia Pipeline Explosion

The families of victims of pipeline explosion in Umuimo and Umuaduru communities in Osisioma Local Government can now celebrate as the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar donated N10 Million to the Abia State government to assist them.

The delegate of the Atiku Campaign Organisation led by the Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP, Mr. Peter Obi, commiserated with the people and government of the State over the sad pipeline explosion.

The delegates, who donated the money on behalf of the presidential aspirant, Atiku, visited the affected communities.

Peter Obi was accompanied by Abia State governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, and other officials of the state.

Obi lamented the lost of lives as a result of the explosion, stating that the incident should raise the red flag for proper safety measures along all pipeline beds across the country.

The Speaker, Abia House of Assembly, Mr Chikwendu Kalu, had earlier said that the State Government would probe the Oct. 12 oil pipeline explosion that claimed some lives and property in the state.

Naija News recalls that at least 24 persons lost their lives in an explosion that occured at Umuaduru and Umuimo villages in the area.
