Ayodele Fayose, the Governor of Ekiti State, has revealed that he will no longer be running for presidency come 2019, he stated that the decision was due to the All Progressives Congress rigging the last governorship election in the state.

Recall that Naija News reported that Fayose in September had made known his interest to run for Presidency and had vowed to unseat President Muhammadu Buhari.

Fayose, while speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, said he has decided to put his ambition aside and face the petition filed by Kolapo Olusola, his deputy and gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, in the last governorship election.

Governor Ayodele Fayose has decided to bury his ambition because of the last Ekiti governorship election that was rigged by the APC and we have already filed a petition at the tribunal.

“So presently, the governor is more concerned in getting back the mandate of his deputy, Professor Eleka, than his presidential bid.

“That’s the preoccupation for now, so for that reason, he has decided to put his ambition aside, and face the petition in the tribunal and make sure the PDP gets its mandate back,” Adelusi said.
