1. President Buhari to restructure Nigeria’s security

President Muhammadu Buhari, is planning a restructuring of the nation’s security architecture so as to put an end to the security challenges in the country.

This was disclosed to newsmen by Speaker, Yakubu Dogara after a closed door meeting with President Buhari and Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

2. Military parade suspected killers of Plateau villagers

The Nigerian Military have arrested and paraded Three suspects alongside their weapons in connection with the weekend’s killings of dozens of people in 11 villages in Plateau State.

One of the three suspect his baron, one of the minority ethnic groups in Plateau, the last two are Fulani herders. This two tribe are at odd with each other over grazing rights.

3. Court to give ruling on suit challenging Fayemi as Ekiti APC governorship candidate on July 3

A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory sitting at Bwari has today fixed July 3 to deliver judgment on a suit challenging the eligibility of APC Candidate Dr. Kayode Fayemi, to participate in the July 14 governorship election in Ekiti State.

Justice Othman Musa postponed his judgment, since parties in the matter argued and adopted their final briefs of argument.

4. Benue government refuses to release land for federal government’s ranching policy

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State on Tuesday said that the state has no 5,000 hectares of land to donate for the establishment of ranches as requested by the Federal Government.

He said the state could only afford to lease land to law-abiding Nigerians who were willing to live peacefully in Benue and do their legitimate businesses.

5. IGP reinstates removed Plateau commissioner of police

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has reinstated Undie Adie, the Plateau State police commissioner who was announced removed yesterday.

He was reportedly reinstated because he has an understanding of the terrain and the support received from other security agencies.

6. CAN raises alarm over fresh plans to attack Kaduna and other states

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has called the attention of President Muhammadu Buhari and security operatives in the country to an alleged plan to attack Southern Kaduna and other middle belt states.

The Christian umbrella body, identified some towns and soft targets which they claim has already been listed for attacks.

7. Court orders forfeiture of Diezani’s Lekki land to FG

The Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday ordered the temporary seizure of a parcel of land in the Lekki area of Lagos linked to a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.

The land, designated as Plot 13, Block II Oniru Chieftaincy Private Family Estate, Lekki, Lagos, is said to be worth N325.4m.

8. Saraki visits Plateau state over recent killings

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Wednesday, paid a condolence visit to Governor Lalong in Jos to sympathise with government and people of Plateau over the killings of scores of people in the state.

The Senate president said it was obvious that something was wrong with the security situation in the country, adding that something needed to be done to arrest it.

9. Michael Jackson’s father dies at 89

Joe Jackson, the father of late pop-star Michael Jackson, has been reported dead according to TMZ.

His grandson Taj Jackson confirmed the tragic news about the music manager online after it was reported he had passed away at 3.30am on Wednesday in Los Angeles, United States of America, with his wife Katherine at his bedside.

10. Germany crash out of Russia 2018 World cup

Defending champions, Germany crashed out of the on-going FIFA World cup tournament in Russia after suffering a shocking 2-0 loss to South Korea.

The exit marks a new low for the German machines in their World cup campaign.
