1. Over 100 people killed in fresh Plateau attacks

Over 100 people have been killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen in an attack on Gashish and Ropp Districts of Plateau State on Sunday.

Subsequently, the Plateau State Government has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on Riyom, Barkin Ladi and Jos South Local Government Areas.

2. Adams Oshiomole sworn in as new APC national chairman

Former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, has been sworn in as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.

Ahead of his inauguration, the National Working Committee and National Executive Committee of the party were dissolved to make way for the new leadership.

3. Stop interfering in APC matters – Tinubu tell Obasanjo

National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, on Sunday asked former President Olusegun Obasanjo to stop interfering in the affairs of the ruling party.

He spoke in Abuja at the venue of the national convention of the party.

4. Senator Abaribe arrested for exposing budget fraud – IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) yesterday alleged that the federal government arrested Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe because he allegedly exposed N30 billion budget fraud perpetrated by the APC government.

Abaribe’s lawyer also raised the alarm that the senator has remained incommunicado since he was picked up by security operatives in Abuja on Friday.

5. NAF deploys special forces and fighter jets to fight insecurity in Benue state

The Nigerian Air Force has deployed two fighter aircraft and 300 Special Forces to Benue State following renewed crisis in the state.

Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, disclosed this weekend when he paid a visit to the headquarters of Operation Whirl Stroke.

6. Oshiomole to accommodate nPDP members in his administration

Newly elected chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, yesterday, revealed promised to accommodate various views and work with different organs of the party to reposition it ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Oshiomhole, who was elected unopposed on Saturday night, said unlike the 16 years of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which he said emptied the national treasury, the APC-led government has remained faithful to Nigeria and Nigerians.

7. Soldiers kill 20 bandits, arrests others in Zamfara state

Troops of 1 Division of the Nigerian Army killed 20 bandits believed to have been terrorising natives and motorists between Zamfara and Kaduna states, Deputy Director, Army/Public Relations,1 Division, Colonel Muhammad Dole, disclosed.

He said this happened during the ongoing Idon RainiCorridor II where a raid was conducted on armed bandits’ hideouts in the general area of Jambrini Village in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara.

8. Kidnappers abduct Ondo monarch’s wife and driver

Unknown hoodlums have kidnapped the wife of a prominent traditional ruler in Ondo, the Alauga of Auga-Akoko, in Akoko North East Local Government Area of the state, Olori Olukemi Agunloye.

The monarch’s wife was allegedly kidnapped alongside her husband’s driver, who was driving her at the time of the incident.

9. Police place N1m bounty on masked lady

The Lagos State Police Command has offered a N1m reward to anybody with useful information that will lead to the arrest of a masked lady who alleged that a policeman, Inspector Christopher Nabugwu, was living in opulence.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Chike Oti, disclosed the allegations caught the attention of the Inspector-General of Police, who ordered an investigation into the allegation.

10. Why I didn’t attend APC convention – Kwankwaso

The immediate past governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has explained that he deliberately avoided the APC national convention held on Saturday and Sunday to avoid breakdown of law and order.

Mr. Kwankwaso stated that the refusal of the APC leadership of John Odigie-Oyegun to recognise the congresses that favoured his loyalists at the state, local government and wards in Kano contributed to his decision to boycott the convention.
