The Police Service Commission has released a new list of successful candidates in the 2018 nationwide police recruitment exercise.

The lists differ considerably from the one earlier released by the commission on June 1, 2018.

The initial list showed that the total number of successful candidates was 5,253. Kano State had the highest number of 308, followed by Katsina, 238.

However, the new list published by the PSC on Friday has increased by 284 to a total of 5,537 candidates across the federation, with the highest number of candidates coming from Niger (346), Benue (304) and Akwa Ibom (302).

In the old list, these three states had 169, 157 and 194 candidates each.

Also, in the new list released on Friday, Bayelsa State, the Federal Capital Territory and Zamfara State had the least candidates, 50, 57 and 99 each.

Apart from  Zamfara that remains unchanged with 99 successful candidates, Bayelsa initially had 54 candidates and the FCT, 42.

Kano and Katsina States that had the highest number of candidates in the previous list now have 280 and 238 respectively.
