Police Lay Siege To Dino Melaye’s Residence
Heavily armed and fierce looking operatives of the Nigeria Police are currently laying siege on the Abuja residence of the senator representing Kogi west, Sen. Dino Melaye, Naija News can authoritatively report.
Two aides of the senator said the police officers arrived at about 1:40 pm at Mr Melaye’s residence in Maitama District of Abuja.
Melaye who also confirmed the story via his Twitter handle this afternoon said:
Over 30 heavily armed fierce looking mobile police men have just stormed My residence in Maitama, Abuja.
All roads leading to House has been condoned off, as heavy mobile police men blocked entry & exit of the road. They currently laid siege on in and around The house.

The siege comes hours after Mr Melaye was arrested and detained at the Abuja airport and prevented from travelling on an official trip to Morocco.
As published in earlier reports by Naija News, the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) detained Mr Melaye, apparently based on information that he was on the wanted list of the police, but subsequently released the law maker after some hours.
It is however not yet immediately clear, why the police are now at his home.
