Member Of Hady Ametuo-Led Exco Expel by Kogi APC
Members of the Hady Ametuo-led executive have been shown the way out of the party by the faction of the All Progressive Congress APC loyal to the state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on Friday, Daily Post reports.
This move has no doubt increased the tension in the crisis rocked party.
Naija News understands that the factional Acting Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahovi, while speaking to newsmen in Lokoja, Kogi State Capital, stated that the reason for the expulsion was as a result of the failure of the Hady Ametuo to appeal their removal within 14 days.
Ahovi said that Ametuo led executive failed to appeal the decision within 14 days as stipulated by the constitution of the party, saying that the failure to abide by the provision meant consent.
Ametuo has been earlier accused of anti-party activities and was asked to come up with a defense.
The factional Chairman thereafter inaugurated other new state executive members of the party to replace those expelled.
Ahovi, who was until now a state Vice Chairman of the party, commended the one year extension granted the national working committee and other organs of the party, saying that the decision would enable the party to become stronger and approach the 2019 elections with determination.
Naija News gathered that Ametuo in a phone conversation with Daily Post reporter stated that Ahovi and his likes lacks the constitutional right to expel him from the party.
“They are faceless group with no authority to suspend me, let alone expel any member of the party,” he said.
