1. Police arrest 3 suspects in connection with Zamfara killings

The Nigeria Police have on Sunday, announced the arrest of three suspects in connection with the recent killings in Zamfara State.

A statement by the police spokesperson, Jimoh Moshood, identified them as Halilu Garba, 45, (Alias Mabushi), Zubairu Marafa, 45 (Alias Wakili) and Nafi’u Badamasi, 40.

2. Buratai wants Boko Haram leader dead or alive

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, has again charged troops of the Nigerian Army to capture Abubakar Shekau, the factional leader of the Boko Haram terrorists group, alive or dead.

Buratai gave the charge at Camp Zairo, the former Command and Control Centre of the terrorists group in the Sambisa forest during an operational visit to troops.

3. Jonathan host Obasanjo in Bayelsa State

After about two years of cold war between former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, the two former leaders seem to have put their differences aside.

Chief Obasanjo over the weekend, visited Jonathan in his Otuoke residence in Bayelsa.

4. Buhari has not rejected Peace Corps bill – Akoh

The National Commandant of the Peace Corps of Nigeria, Ambassador Dickson Okon has denied reports that President Muhammadu Buhari refused to assent to the Peace Corps of Nigeria bill passed by the National Assembly.

He made the statement in reaction to news that President Buhari has rejected the peace corps bill passed by the National Assembly.

5. IPOB insists on referendum and Biafra

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) yesterday said its interest remains the full restoration of the sovereignty of the nation of Biafra and “not in whatever structural reforms the Nigerian government intends to undertake.”

IPOB, in a statement by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful said the group will only support any restructuring that allows referendum to ascertain the wishes of the people.

6. Malami wants Buhari to stop trial of Diezani, Adoke, others

The Attorney General of Nigeria, Abubakar Malami, has written to President Muhammadu Buhari, urging him to back off on his administration’s legal battles against the principal actors in the controversial Malabu Oil deal.

In his letter to Mr. Buhari, Mr. Malami said, following due examination of the case files, he was able to determine that the EFCC has no significant evidence to prove its allegations of sharp practices against prominent players like Bello Adoke, Diezani Alison-Madueke and others.

7. APC cannot afford Tinubu’s failure – Sani

Sen. Shehu Sani has said that avoidable doom awaits the All Progressives Congress at the 2019 polls should Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu fail to reconcile aggrieved members of the party.

Sani, a chieftain of the APC who represents Kaduna central in the Senate, stated this on Sunday in Abuja in an interview with newsmen while reacting to Tinubu’s appointment to head the APC’s reconciliation team.

8. K.Brule and Khloe disqualified from Big Brother Naija

Khloe and K-Brule, have been disqualified from the ongoing Big Brother Naija reality TV show.

Their disqualification stems from their behavior on Saturday night as they were both issued a strike each, including the strike from a couple of weeks ago making it a total of three strikes.

9. Super Falcons defeat Senegal to qualify for WAFU semi-final

Rasheedat Ajibade’s hat trick against Senegal has earned the Super Falcons a place in the semi-finals of the maiden West African Football Union (WAFU) Women’s Cup in Ivory Coast.

The Falcons will now take on Togo who saw off Mali 1-0 in Group B.

10. Nigeria miss out on World Cup ticket

Nigeria’s U17 Women’s team (Flamingos), will not be featuring at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Uruguay.

This follows the 1-1 draw against their Cameroonian counterparts on Sunday, having played a 2-2 draw in their first leg clash against Cameroon and the Nigerian team lost out on the away goals’ rule.
