Suspected Herdsmen Destroy Community In Adamawa

An attack has been launched allegedly by herdsmen on Yungur community in Song Local Government Area of Adamawa state.

The attack occurred on Saturday, resulting in the destruction of property.

A disagreement arising from a herdsman forcefully taking his cattle into the water used for domestic purposes by Yungur community was what escalated into  an attack from the suspected herdsmen, Channels TV reported.

Though the number of affected victims are yet to be ascertained, a herder has been killed in the attack.

Meanwhile, a large number of Herdsmen on Sunday ambushed the community again, burning houses and food items , indicating a continued attack on Yungur.

Confirming the attacks, Police Public Relations Officer, Adamawa State Command, SP Othman Abubakar said the Nigerian Army and other security forces have been deployed to the area.
