Breaking: Super Eagles Qualify For CHAN 2018 Quarter-Finals

The home based Super Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for the Quarter -finals of the on-going African Nations Championships, CHAN after coming from behind to beat Equatorial Guinea 3-1.

They have qualified for quarter-finals as Group C winners, with Libya beating Rwanda 1-0 in the group’s other match to join them in the last eight stage.

Nigeria against the run of play fell behind to an Nse Enyama header in the 40th minute.
The Super Eagles improved their play in the second half and their efforts paid off when striker Anthony Okpotu restored parity with a clinical header in the 59th minute.

Things got better for Coach Salisu Yusuff‘s team as Dayo Ojo justified his first start of the tournament, firing home a rocket from outside the box in the 79th minute for Nigeria to go in front for the first time of the night.
Substitute Rabiu Ali put the icing on the cake as he made it 3-1 on 83 minutes from the penalty box after Okpotu was clattered into by the Guinean defenders.

With the win, Nigeria finished as the top team in Group C with seven points from three games while Libya who secured a late win over Rwanda finished as runners-up and also qualified for the quarterfinals.
