Man arrested for flogging 65-yr-old neighbour to death

Police arrest man for alleged murder of neighbour.

The Niger State Police Command said on Thursday that it had arrested a 49-year-old man, Garba Tukura, for allegedly flogging his 65-year-old neighbour, Musa Wassa to death.

Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Peter Sunday said Tukura, who lives in Zazzaga Village in the Munya Local Government Area of the state flogged Wassa during a heated argument with an engine belt.

He said Wassa slumped and was immediately rushed to a hospital where he was discovered to be comatose and later confirmed dead.

The PPRO said the suspect was arrested by the operatives of the Sarkin Pawa division of the command after a report was made.

He said the suspect confessed to the crime and had been charged to court.
