Bode George speaks on contesting 2023 presidency

One of the contenstants for the National Chairmanship position of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olabode George has withdrawn from the race.

He announced his withdrawal from the race at his campaign office in Abuja, blaming Governor Nyesom Wike of undermining the interest of the Yoruba by ganging up with others to impose a candidate on the party.

George who is among the nine chairmanship aspirants of the party said he was not stepping down for anybody but withdrawing because the Southwest is already cheated with the entrance of candidates from the South-South.

George who is a member of the board of trustees of the party said he aligned with the now jettisoned micro-zoning principle of the party which zoned the chairmanship slot to the Southwest.
