2019 Elections: PDP speaks on Atiku’s presidential ambition
PDP says Atiku must follow its rules and regulations.
Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Walid Jibrin, has urged Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to abide by the rules of the party.
It would be recalled that few days ago, Abubakar dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for PDP.
Naija News gathered that Jibrin, a former senator from Nasarawa State, said in an interview with Premium Times, that the presidential aspirants in PDP has increased, and Abubakar should expect a rigorous competition for the party’s ticket.
According to Jibrin, the former vice president “must subject himself to all the constitutional instruments of the party if he really wants to be president by 2019.”

He said that most of the presidential aspirants since the party zoned its presidential ticket to the north are political champions, adding that all the candidates are very strong and the former vice-president will have to contend with them.
It was gathered that Atiku’s registration would be in time for his participation at the party’s national convention scheduled for December 9 in Abuja.
Jibrin, therefore, stated that members are expected to elect a substantive chairman for the party at the convention, adding that he won’t back three of the eight chairmanship candidates who are members of the BOT.
“As leaders of the party, we’re supposed to play down on our personal political ambitions,” he said.
