I’ll commit crime again if given the opportunity – arrested robbery suspect
Police arrest two robbery suspects in Niger.
Two suspected robbers terrorising, Tunga, Minna, have been arrested by the police in Niger State.
Naija News gathered that the suspects, Shehu Illiyasu, 29, and Ibrahim Aliyu,18, were apprehended after dispossessing one Adamu Mohammed of his motorcycle worth N230,000 and inflicted injuries on him.
Confirming the incident, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Abigail Unaeze, told Northern City News that the operatives recovered a stick the suspects used to attack their victim.
The Police PRO said Illiyasu confessed to the crime, saying he conspired with Aliyu Tafa in Kaduna State to rob the victim.
Illiyasu also told newsmen that he committed the crime due to hardship.
He said, “I don’t have a job to take care of myself, and that is why I rob people to make ends meet. I can’t stay without money.”
“I have no remorse, if given the opportunity again I will commit the crime because the situation is bad. Nothing works in this country, people are suffering a lot, ” he added.
The police therefore, said the suspects would be charged to court after investigations have been concluded.
