Some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) resident in Malaysia have donated a live cow allegedly named “Buhari” to their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The cow which was named before it was gifted to the IPOB leader ahead of the Biafra Day celebration is expected to be slaughtered on May 30th.

An online news medium, The BreakingTimes, reports that Mr Kanu “who has received hundreds of important visitors including high-placed politicians since he was released on bail by an Abuja High Court in April, accepted the gift warmly.”

Online photos have emerged showing two of the claimed IPOB members who donated the cow standing with Nnamdi Kanu and another showing them standing beside the said cow.

Meanwhile, over the weekend, the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu addressed a Shabbat Rally in his father’s compound, defying one of the conditions of his bail which prohibits him from being in a gathering of more than ten persons.

While addressing the congregation, Mr Kanu stressed that within the next few months Biafra will be achieved, adding that the enemies of Biafra are in trouble.

“On the 30th of May, we shut this place down and after that, we call for a referendum. There will be no election in Biafra forever and ever,” he said.

Maintaining that IPOB does not want a restructuring or the honouring of the Aburi Accord, but Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu said “it’s either Biafra or death. I was born to restore Biafra…” He then concluded his address with a prayer as the congregation lifted up their hands.

Also, while receiving a delegation of Ohaneze Youth Council, OYC, who paid him a solidarity visit on Sunday at his Afaraukwu Umuahia North Council home, Nnamdi Kanu commended the leadership and members of OYC for their steadfastness and faith in the struggle to achieve the Republic of Biafra, urging them to keep the spirit on.

Mr Kanu praised the delegation led by the President, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro for his leadership and support for the Biafra cause even in the face of persecution by the past leaders of the parent body, Ohaneze Ndigbo.

Kanu reminded them that the fight for the liberation of Ndigbo was not a personal project and personal gain but a fight for the good of the entire Igbo people. He also urged them to persevere, assuring that they would continue to work together to save Ndigbo and set them free.

In his remarks, Isiguzoro thanked God for making it possible for the IPOB leader to be free and assured him of continued support and collaboration of Ohaneze youths in the struggle for Biafra.

Isiguzoro stated that their solidarity visit was to reaffirm their belief in the struggle and assured Kanu that no right thinking Igbo person would attempt to sabotage the struggle which described as “just”, adding that there is no going back in the struggle.

The Ohaneze Youth leader also used the forum to call on Ndigbo to obey and observe the sit-at-home call on Tuesday, saying that it is for their good.
