Kingibe Reacts To Tinubu’s Emergence As APC Presidential Candidate [Video]

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babagana Kingibe has congratulated Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his emergence as the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former running mate to MKO Abiola in the 1993 presidential election stated that it is the turn of the former Governor of Lagos to be the next Nigerian President.

Naija News reports that Kingibe stated this in a meeting with Tinubu at the weekend in Abuja, the nation’s capital

Kingibe said Tinubu will be the next to be Nigeria’s president in 2023 because of his sacrifices and effort. He also mimicked one of Tinubu’s lines during his meeting with Ogun delegates days before the APC presidential primary election.

He said: “Eyin lo kan, (you’re the next).

“You will move from Jagaban of Borgu to Jagaban of Nigeria; from Asiwaju of Lagos to Asiwaju of Nigeria. For all your sacrifices, for all your effort, God will reward you this time.”

Naija News reports that Tinubu emerged as the APC presidential flag bearer at the party’s Special Convention held the Eagle Square, Abuja, last Wednesday.

Tinubu polled 1,271 votes to defeat 13 other presidential aspirants during the election and will now face the likes of Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, among others in the 2023 general elections.
