BREAKING: 17 INEC Officials Kidnapped, Rescued In Imo

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it has deployed both sensitive and non-sensitive materials to Anambra State ahead of today’s Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Anambra state, Queen Elizabeth Agwu, made this known at a press conference in Akwa, the Anambra State capital.

She said elections will hold everywhere except Polling Units (PUs) where there are zero registrants, assuring electorates that the state was secured.

Agwu added that the Presidential and National Assembly elections would hold on Saturday as planned, just as the State House of Assembly poll would be conducted on March 11, across the 21 LGAs, 326 wards, and polling units with registered voters.

She said: “Election will hold everywhere except Polling Units (PUs) where there are zero registrants. The security is intact. We have deployed all the sensitive and non-sensitive materials to all PUs. We don’t want to disfranchise anyone. We are appealing to everyone who has voter cards to come out and cast their votes.

“Don’t be afraid. You are secured. Don’t sit at home and wait for anyone to win. Come out and vote for the candidate you wish to win. The person will surely win if you vote. Do not foment trouble. It is going to be credible, free, and fair. The new electoral act is specific with various provisions. If you run foul of the Act, you will be prosecuted.
