After Ajla Tomljanovic withdrew due to a knee injury, Inglis got a last-minute call-up for the game.

Britain won with two matches remaining after Dart’s 6-4, 6-4 victory on Friday.

Dan Evans was defeated by Jason Kubler 6-3 7-6 (7-3) and will play against Dart in a doubles round later on Friday.

With Norrie and Rafael Nadal’s encounter on Saturday, Great Britain will now get ready to play their other group opponents, Spain.

The following day, Swan will face Nuria Parrizas-Diaz.

There are six round-robin groups of three teams in the first mixed-team competition.

For a chance to face either the US, Germany, or the Czech Republic in a play-off to advance to the semi-finals, Great Britain, Spain, and Australia have to battle to the end.

Meanwhile, Lleyton Hewitt has been accused of “throwing him under the bus” by Nick Kyrgios, the co-captain of Australia.

The public outburst from his co-captain angered Kyrgios, 27, who withdrew from the United Cup mixed teams competition to prepare for the Australian Open.

Hewitt claimed he was annoyed by the lack of communication and that he was uninformed of Kyrgios’ withdrawal from the ongoing competition.
