Breaking: NCDC Confirms Three New Cases Of Omicron Variant

English Football League side, EFL Fulham has revealed that two players in the club have tested positive to Coronavirus in the last round of testing.

The Championship league noted that tests were carried out on 1,030 players and staff between Monday and Wednesday which saw three people’s result return positive from two clubs.

The EFL in a statement said, “Those players or club staff who have tested positive will now self-isolate in line with the guidelines provided by the EFL and only those who have tested negative will be permitted to enter training ground facilities,” the EFL said in a statement.

The London club in a statement said, “Both players, who shall remain unnamed due to medical confidentiality, are now self-isolating in line with league and government guidance.”

Following the low confirmed cases in the Championship, there are plans for the competition to resume next month.

At Premier League level, four individuals from three clubs were found to be COVID-19 positive in the testing round conducted on Monday and Tuesday, which included 1,008 tests.

Clubs in the league are to meet on Thursday to discuss issues such as the date to restart the league if clubs are to play on neutral grounds, the models to follow if the season is cut short.
