Shehu Sani Charge Amokachi To Rescue Nigeria From European Football Obsession

The former Senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Shehu Sani, has lauded the former Super Eagles Assistant Coach, Daniel Amokachi, on his recent appointment as Nigeria’s Football Ambassador.

Naija News had earlier reported that President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday appointed Daniel Amokachi as Nigeria’s Football Ambassador.

President Buhari in a statement through his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, revealed that the former Super Eagles player will assist the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to scout for young talents.

The statement reads: “Amokachi will assist the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to scout for talents, be part of processes to revive the country’s football development, as well as mentor young sportsmen and women”.

The former lawmaker in a tweet on Thursday called on Amokachi to rescue Nigerians from their obsession and addiction to European league.

He wrote: “Congratulations to Amokachi, The Bull, on your Presidential appointment as Nigeria’s Football Ambassador.”

“Even though ceremonial you absolutely deserve the appointment.”

“Do all you can to rescue Nigerians from their obsession and addiction to European league back to the local league.”
