Rape Lawsuit Filed Against Cristiano Ronaldo Reportedly Dropped

According to a report from Bloomberg, the rape lawsuit filed against Juventus player, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been dropped on Wednesday.

A notice of voluntary dismissal was filed last month in Nevada state court in Las Vegas.

In the notice filed it was not revealed if the accuser, Kathryn Mayorga, had reached a settlement with Ronaldo.

Naija News recalls Mayorga had accused the footballer in September 2018 of sexually assaulting her in 2009 in a Las Vegas hotel.

The former Real Madrid player, however, denied the accusations.

Mayorga had stated last while she had agreed to a financial settlement with Ronaldo shortly after the alleged incident, her emotional trauma at the time did not allow her to participate in the mediation process.

Due to the renewed accusations against the five-time winner of the Ballon d’Or award, Las Vegas police re-opened an investigation.
