Presidency Reacts To Buhari’s Election Victory

The presidency has reacted to the news of the declaration of Muhammadu Buhari as the winner of the 2019 presidential elections which held on 23rd February.

Laolu Akande, senior special assistant to Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo took to Twitter on Wednesday to congratulate and thank supporters.

He described it as a victory for all Nigerians.

“This is welcoming Nigerians to the Next Level. Our God who sent us here has done it again! Congratulations compatriots! And this victory is for ALL NIGERIANS,” he said.

As previously reported by Naija News, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the early hours of Wednesday, declared the incumbent president and presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari as the winner.

INEC boss, Mahmood Yakubu, said Buhari polled 15,191,847 votes to defeat his rival, Atiku Abubakar who polled 11,262,978 votes.

Similarly, Bashir Ahmad, personal assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on new media, in a series of Tweets, thanked Nigerians and congratulated supporters for returning Buhari for a second term.
