Galatasaray Reject €120m Atletico Madrid Bid For Osimhen

Turkish champions Galatasaray have turned down a massive €120 million offer from Atletico Madrid for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

According to reports from Forza Cimbom via Punch, Atletico tabled the bid as they look to strengthen their attack amid uncertainty surrounding the futures of Alexander Sørloth and Julian Alvarez.

Victor Osimhen, 27, only completed a permanent move from Napoli to Galatasaray last summer, but his outstanding performances in Turkey have quickly placed him back on the radar of Europe’s elite clubs.

Naija News reports that the Nigerian forward has enjoyed another prolific campaign in Turkish Super Lig, scoring 22 goals and registering eight assists in 32 appearances. His contributions proved crucial as Galatasaray secured a fourth straight Süper Lig title, while he also played a leading role in the club’s UEFA Champions League run.

Several major clubs are believed to be keeping close tabs on the striker, including Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

Galatasaray’s decision to reject such a lucrative proposal showed their determination to retain their star striker despite growing interest from across Europe. The Istanbul club invested €75 million to sign Osimhen permanently and rewarded him with a lucrative contract, signalling their long-term commitment to the player.
